Employment

Student employment opportunities may be had under the Federal Work-Study Program or Term-Time Program. Before beginning work-study or term-time jobs, the US Department of Labor requires that several forms be completed. You may download the I-9, W-4 and Student Employment Contract below. Additionally, students are responsible for submitting time cards in a timely fashion to ensure payment for work performed. A student will not receive payment until all paperwork is completed and received by the Office of Financial Aid. If you have any questions please contact Jesse Allen at 617-879-2183 or jallen@wheelock.edu.

Federal Work-Study

This program provides eligible students with employment opportunities that help meet the costs of a college education. A student selects her or his job from positions offered by academic and administrative departments. The amount of the work-study award is determined by the Office of Financial Aid and must appear on a student's financial aid award for the student to be able to participate in the program.

Funds earned on the program are paid to students on an every other week basis in the form of a check for the hours worked. Earnings are not credited to a student's tuition/fees or room and board bill.

For the 2009-2010 academic year, students employed in on-campus positions were paid at the rate of $8.00 per hour.

Term-Time

There are a limited number of on-campus employment positions available that do not require a student to have been awarded federal work-study. The rate of pay for these positions varies, but the median is $8.00 per hour.
