Learning to Make a Difference

Since our founding nearly 125 years ago, Wheelock has offered our students a superb, cutting-edge education that prepares them to be successful and to make a positive difference in the world.

Wheelock delivers a broad array of undergraduate and graduate programs through three schools under the leadership of Dr. Julie Wollman, Vice President for Academic Affairs. These include the School of Arts and Sciences (Dean Shirley Malone-Fenner); the School of Education, Social Work, Child Life and Family Studies (Dean Louis Casagrande); and the School of Graduate and Continuing Studies (Dean Kerry Kerber).

A hallmark of a Wheelock education is our ability to provide students with real-world experiences for many of the semesters they are here.  This integration of classroom theory and scholarship with real-world experience enables our students to graduate with a strong degree and a strong resume, making them highly regarded and sought after in the job market.  This accounts for why so many of our students are offered good paying jobs even before graduation.

We know that you are likely to have several careers, not just jobs, during your working years.  A Wheelock education will provide you with the skills, confidence, and experience to succeed in a fast-changing, highly-competitive world.

We continue to invest in new, innovative programs.  This year, we have introduced a five-year masters program in Child Life designed to enhance academic credentials and earning potential for graduates who will work with children and families in medical settings.  We have also launched a new Communications & Media Literacy major and a new minor in Sports-Based Youth Development-providing our students with a wider range of job opportunities and career paths.

Wheelock is one of a small number of higher education institutions in the country that has created a multi-department Student Success team focused on providing a wide range of services tailored to your specific academic and learning needs.

These are just some of the ways w are committed to helping you be successful-during college and beyond. We invite you to explore the undergraduate and graduate programs we offer in Boston, the U.S., and internationally.
