Political Caucus
The Wheelock College Political Caucus is a non-partisan group of students, faculty, staff, and alumni who are interested in generating political awareness and energy on campus. Formed in 2008, the Political Caucus meets bi-monthly to discuss issues of interest to the community, plan pertinent events and advance political discussion on current policy debates at the local, state, and national levels.
The Caucus has enjoyed success in voter registration, registering over 200 new voters during the 2008 Presidential election, organizing viewings of the presidential candidates debates and an Inaugural celebration attended by 650 people, including the Boston Arts Academy students and faculty. The Caucus has also convened an Economic Summit to dissect the country's economic downturn and surveyed the Wheelock community about their issues of interest.
